I’m thrilled to announce that I have been selected as a speaker for the National Genealogical Society (NGS) 2021 Conference!
Strange but true: I decided to pursue a spot as a speaker because the 2021 conference was planned for an East coast, driving distance (for me) location of Richmond, Virginia. On 10 March 2020, I submitted my proposal, just three days before the pandemic interrupted just about everything in our lives. Eleven months later, here we are, and I will be making my first national presentation virtually as part of the On-Demand Program. It will be a different experience than anticipated, but I am still excited about the opportunity. The upside is that many more people will have access to the educational content than those who would have been able to attend in person.
My session will be:
Mennonite and Brethren Research: Pennsylvania, Virginia, and Beyond
Retrace the path of the Shenandoah Valley’s Anabaptist settlers along the Great Wagon Road to Pennsylvania. Learn about repositories and resources for research.
Learn more about the NGS 2021 Conference.
Check out my upcoming presentations in February on digitized newspapers and researching women.
